moving on out

this week, besides catching up on my day job, i am packing my house. i start moving on thursday.
so much packed into august.
my husband is still in alaska. so here i am, moving by myself.
thankfully, i have a lot of girlfriends who have volunteered their husbands (thank you husbands).
i also have some awesome friends at church who have volunteered.
it feels so strange to be in this house for the last week without my husband.
in just one day i will be picking up the key to my new space called home.

baby baby

mr. b and i have been trying for a baby for several years now.
we just celebrated 9 years of marriage.
a few months ago we had a few days of pink line happiness.
only a few days later to be disapointed.
i asked mr. b for a dog, he replied "let's get a baby instead".
we have always talked about adoption, and here it is. it is actually going to happen.
literally the day after we decided to adopt, we found out about a local adoption agency.
the agency is perfect for us. they way the adoption works is everything we could ask for.
the next week we signed with the agency.
we were 7th on the list for the fall class. they only take 6 couples per class.
by the grace of god, we made the fall class. the invitation came the first week in alaska.
so, here we go.
the first week in september mr. b and i will start the adoption class.
through this entire process so far, we have seen god's hand moving and directing.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

so it's been a while...

and i'm back.
i've been in alaska, visiting family and friends.
i will soon make some posts of my beautiful alaskan adventure.
this week has been back to work. i work at a university. this was freshman orientation week.
the time away from work gave me time to reset.
i was able to think about my goals for the next year and spend extra time with god.
on my vacation to do list was reading visionary parenting. i read over half. great book.
a lot of thinking and journaling.
defiantly a book i will come back to time and again as i begin the journey of parenting.
speaking of parenting...
my first day in alaska i recieved the email i have been eagerly hoping, praying and expecting.
mr. b and i have been accepted into an adoption agency.
we start classes in just a few short weeks.
it all feels surreal.
telling (and crying with)  my closest girl friends made it the most real so far.
i will have to do a separate post for my adoption journey thus far.
current to do:
my goddaughter's first birthday party: this weekend
moving to my new house: next weekend
visiting my sister and nephews: three weeks out
