a little bit of art

this weekend is my my first art booth in two years.
i have learned so much over this time.
i am a bit more nervous about this than ever.
in learning more you also learn just how much you don't know,
and how much you want to know,
{but} you also have more direction in your learning and growth.
in the current moment i don't necessarily realize how much i know,
but when i look back,
it becomes overwhelming obvious, at least to myself, just how far i have come.
so...please come to my art booth.
check out my work.
i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
my etsy shop will open soon too.

light it up

here is my first tutorial post.
many people have asked about my lighting.
when we first moved in i noticed that the kitchen table area had *zero* lighting.
{see here: http://rhondacbohart.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html }
i starting pinteresting to explore different ideas for lighting additions {this is a rental house}.
after looking and thinking i finally realized that left over from college days i had a light fixture.
i promptly dug out the light fixture.
i also remembered the edision light bulbs from lowe's.
quick *before they close* run to lowe's get two hooks and one light bulb.
a few minutes more and - poof - i have lighting.

supplies: two hooks, one light bulb, and one light fixture.

screw one hook in the ceiling, centered over the table area.

screw one hook in the wall.
make a loop in the cord so that the light will not move.
screw in light bulb. plug in. enjoy light!

my dear blog

i have not forgotten about you.
i have been so busy with life.
i am preparing for a craft fair december 1st.
getting my etsy shop up and going.
working on photography.

i would like to share tid-bit of life today.
a few weeks ago someone said some really mean things about my family
and did some really mean things to my family.
i still don't understand the why- i don't think i will ever really know.
but god is healing my heart...one. day. at. a. time.
he has been so clearly saying i love you, i love you, i love you.
i have plans for you.
i am so thankful for a god who comes and meets me with my broken heart
and shows me how much he cares.
this whole thing has kind of turned my world around.
i cannot see where god is going to take us.
but, he is there reminding me each day- i love you- i have a plan for you.

we rejoice in the hope of the glory of god.
more than that, we rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that suffering produces character,
character produces hope,
and hope does not put us to shame,
because god's love has been poured into our hearts
through the holy spirit who has been given to us.
